Due to popular request, I am providing a translation. At some point in the future I may post a Binary topic in the science or math boards.

The Seraleth
Prologue

Deep in the Forest of Tanthyr lies the hidden city of Sarnathellar. Elevated far above the ground in the trees it rests, concealed from prying eyes. Some description must now be given of Sarnathellar, the greatest of all Elven cities apart from the vast abodes of the Mountain Elves at Cor Dummath which remain unmatched; a thousand great halls and many lesser ones besides, hewed deep into the great mountains of Karintorne, the Isles of Glory. The vastness of Cor Dummath and its splendor are too large to envision. With exceptional skill were the massive pillars wrought of old, taking the form of tall trees rising to endless heights in the grand halls.

However, Sarnathellar is a city unlike any other. Walkways stretch from tree to tree, leading to large platforms which support the Elven homes, temples, shops, and other city structures. Everything here is of wood, carved like vines, branches, and leaves. Around the city is a large and mighty Inner Wall, which no force has ever breached. Between this and the larger Outer Wall lie the barracks. The Southern Gate, strongest of Elven gates, faces the arch-enemies of the Wood Elves, the Hurons. During Fromendach, the Battle of Poisoned Blood, in 1713 the Hurons had breached the outer wall but once. They were forced back though, for by the time they had reached the inner wall many of them lay dead behind, slain by a cloud of arrows from above.

In the center of the city lies the Palace of King Caradhrion, who is considered the King of Kazûm by all save the Hurons who would see all Elves dead. The Palace is so great in wonder that it alone in all the lands of Kazûm rivals the great halls of Cor Dummath. It glows from within with a radiance. If any were to pass the Royal Guard in the center of the Palace, they would find the source of the brilliance set upon a pedestal. For upon the Pedestal rests the Seraleth, the Elven Jewel. Its radiance is matched only by it’s power. That power can only be mastered by Caradhrion.

Where the Seraleth was created, and by whom, is unknown to all with the exception of, perhaps, Caradhrion himself. Indeed, those few who know of it, believe the King was the maker of this stone, for only he has control of its power. The jewel lies upon the Pedestal of Brilliance in the center of the Palace at Sarnathellar. Guards patrol the corridors outside at all times, and only with Caradhrion’s permission may any look upon it. The precautions taken to keep the Seraleth safe are greatly needed. The full power of this stone is not known by any but Caradhrion and he has never revealed but a small portion of its full potential. Were it to fall into enemy hands, who have no skill over it, the results would be catastrophic, though what those results may be, none can say.
